In the bio,circa 1050 ad, of the Tibetan Milirepa it is stated that for a fair period of time the only thing he had to eat was pine needles and he made them into a tea and so inbibed them that way and his skin turned green after a while. He stayed well, tho so thin and affected at first sight appeared not to be human, according to the report.
